We went out today and did a test shoot before we are going to the Tate and we spoke to Richard Cross who is a art tutor and has published artwork.
I am working towards a Documentary piece that is going to be produced at the Tate Liverpool on the work that is already there plus the Charline Von Heyl exhibition that is currently being shown.

Colour
I decided to use colour to help get across hope, fear and desire because to me certain colours represent different feelings etc, so i used different colours on photography portraits to change the colour to give of different emotions.

Sunflowers (1888) by Vincent Van Gogh
This painting of Vincent Van Goghs sunflowers show an instinctive understanding of color theory. In his 'Sunflowers' still life, he uses warm yellows to create an energetic image that radiates feelings of hope and joy.
The Tragedy (1903) by Pablo Picasso
On the other hand a more conscious use of colour theory is found in the paintings of Pablo Picasso 'blue period'. He chooses cool colors to evoke the chill of sadness and despair in 'The Tragedy', a typical subject from his work at this time. Thursday, 1 March 2012
Hope Fear Desire
The different colours represent different emotions and feelings, the colours represent, DESIRE FEAR HOPE, ANGER, GREED, LOVE and LOSS.
Hope, Fear , Desire Ideas and Pieces
The photograph above represents fear
The photograph above represents hope
The photograph above represents desire
When taking these photographs i wanted to capture the emotions in the centre of the picture, i then edited them by putting parts of his face that showed the emotion, for example the hope picture the eyes have been cut out this represents that he is hoping with his eyes closed.
The desire picture shows him wanting and it looks like he is longing for something this represents the desire and want and him looking into the distant. when taking the photo i directed him to look upwards in the certain direction, i took a series of photographs and chose this one as i felt it had the most emotion in it.
The fear image i directed him to look sad hence the saddened frown, this was the best way i found i could capture the emotion fear.
The reason i decided to make each image into a collage is because behind the main image shows emotion then through each separate section in the background is a piece of emotion, with the eyes showing certain emotion.

Edits of Photography
Here is the edited version of one of my favourite pieces of photography I have done. I edited this work by changing the contrast it was an experimental piece so i was just trying to work my way around photoshop i also edited the gamma and that gave it a me the green look in the photo, i also experimented with the vibrance of the picture.

Photography of Eiffel Tower 22nd December 2009
I took this photograph in 2009 when i went to Paris with my family. the top left photo is edited by changing the way it is looks by pressing the brush strokes button i did this to see what the image would look like and it gave the effect of it looking like a painting. the middle image was just changing it from colour to black and white. The image on the top right is were i changed the gamma correction and that made it look like the image was fake and the eiffel tower had been super imposed onto a white back ground. the bottom left is the image i most like because of the vibrant colours it makes it look like a sunny day i also like the tree in the bottom left because it looks like the leaves are turning ready for Autumn. then their is the original picture on the bottom right which captures the base of the tower i also took it with the tree in shot because it filled the open space underneath the tower so it didn't seem bland and open.
Photography
These are a few images i taken at Great Harwood skate park i took the photographs last year when visiting my family and i noticed them and thought that the way they were graffiti on the wall with the wall cracking looking very authentic, with the top image i decided to get the building in the background and the grass at the front in because it gave a different approach to just focusing on the graffiti its self

Silver Apples Extract
Silver apple session, in this silver apple session i was on camera i had to find suitable shots in which the director asked for and maintain these shots until directed otherwise.
Hope Fear Desire Juxtapostion
I have come up with and idea and drawn a story board, of how i can use this juxtaposition and use it in my work.
I have created 2 characters a man and a women, the basics of the story are a man is waiting for women to come and meet him, i have incorporated the brief into this because you can get the hope, fear and desire because the human condition uses feelings to get the hope fear and desire through to the audience. Using desire and fear to create hope. You get these feelings from the characters were every human wants to meet somebody this creates the desire, then their is the fear aspect of the project covered were the man is nervous and is in fear that he will not meet someone, hope then generates from this in that the together desire and fear create hope because he is hopeful to meet this female character.

Hope Fear Desire
Ihave been given a new brief that I have to do on hope fear and desire at first I came to a stabling block and I couldn't think were to start so I went onto a short film website for some inspiration, also I researched what hope fear and desire was also I put my own feelings on what I thought was "hope, fear, desire".
Hope, Fear and Desire are all linked through juxtaposition in that, when you put to of these together for example;
Desire + Fear = Hope, this is because a desire is something you want to achieve and you fear not being able to achieve that this then creates Hope.

Me and others in the group have been collaberating for the past 2weeks to create a presentation in a certain area of media we was interested in.
I worked with, jamie, jake and otis because they was interested in the same chosen field i was interested in, this was Film, we decided to do narrow the work down to create a piece of work on autuer directors.
We anaylysed directors work and decided weather it was autuer or not, we discussed what an auteur is then did a piece of work on a certain autuer director two of them were David Lynch and Tim Burton.
